Product Features

This page takes a deeper look at the design features of the Breze.  Each feature was carefully thought through and combined into the design to create a super easy, fun and high quality outdoor cooking system.  The first and foremost design feature is the Breze's Patented temperature control system.  Keeping temperatures uniform is the most important design feature of any appliance that cooks food, but it is often the most complicated, and virtually impossible to do until now,  particularly for outdoor appliances that only use charcoal or wood.

The Breze offers several features to make temperature control easy and accurate.  The first thing you notice is the fuel chute.  Located 32 inches off the ground, this feature enables "Hands Clean" charcoal and wood addition.  The fuel chute is covered by a stainless steel lit with a wire handle to keep your hands safe while handling.  As part of the Patented temperature control design, the fuel automatically forms the correct pile at the bottom of the chute for perfect burning, and continuously feeds the fire as the old fuel is turned to ash.  Gone are the days of scooping charcoal or wood with your hands, making charcoal piles, spreading around burning coal and having to add fuel over and over again!

The next feature is my favorite: a single temperature control knob that works!  This unit does not require gas or electricity or specifically design wood pellets to work.  Use your choice of Lump Charcoal, Charcoal Briquettes or Wood Chunks from your local grocery or hardware store, and the Breze controls temperature like a charm.  As shown to the right, controlling  temperature is as simple as moving the handle to the left and right.  The wire grip allows you to adjust temperature without the need for gloves.  Move the handle to the "Low" position to keep temperature in the 200-250F range for slow cooking, or into the "High" position to quickly bring the unit to temperature or keep the temperature in the 400-450F range for roasting, making wood fired pizzas, or baking.  A very large 5" diameter thermometer makes it easy to monitor the oven temperature at all times. Even at night you can read the Low/Medium/High letters as they are backlit from the fire itself.  How cool is that?

As my fellow cooking enthusiasts know, keeping the temperature uniform within the oven area is critical to savory success.  The Breze again steps up to this challenge with design features that keeps the temperature uniform throughout the cooking space, and can do so regardless of the weather.  Just like the mailman, the Breze delivers rain, sleet or shine.  To start, the oven is fully insulated with two to four inches of insulation, including the door.  Insulation does so many great things to make the cooking process fun and easy.  It keeps the heat where it belongs... inside cooking the food.  The walls can then re-radiate all of the heat back to the food.  It also keeps the outside surfaces cool enough that you, your family, your friends, or your pets won't get burned by accidentally touching it.

To eliminate a major source of heat leakage, the Breze includes a  high temperature seal on the oven door so that no heat or smoke leaks out.

Finally, the Breze's natural circulatory convection currents forces the hot air up and down inside the oven.   The combination of insulated walls, convection cooking, and door seal create ultra uniform temperatures so that your food cooks the same way, regardless of where it is placed in the oven. Only move your food when you are putting it in or taking it out!
